In my recent prayer times, the Lord has been speaking to my heart of great spoils gained from great spiritual battles. In fact, while I was praying today, the Holy Spirit reminded me, “There is never a victory without a spoil.”
In our western mindset, we don’t often consider spoils, but in Bible days, spoils were common! Anytime the Israelites went to battle and fought an enemy and won, they came back with plunder or bounty. When Jesus died and rose again, He plundered hell and spoiled principalities and powers, making a show of them openly!

There is never a victory without a spoil.
While major spiritual battles are not an everyday occurrence for the believer, they do happen. And when they do, we shouldn’t be surprised, for the Bible speaks of these things! This year has been a challenging time for many in the Body of Christ—it has been a year of intense spiritual warfare! But know this—as we put on the full armor of God, stand our ground, and resist the devil in faith, we have the assurance of victory. And with that glorious victory comes an even greater spoil!
